What training does a Naturopathic Doctor have?

Naturopathic Doctor’s attend an accredited four-year graduate level school of naturopathic medicine. A Naturopathic doctor must complete basic medical sciences along with a strong emphasis on botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, physical manipulation, homeopathic medicine, pharmacology, psychology, and lifestyle counseling. All NMD’s must pass a rigorous national board examination to be licensed as a general practice physician. They have the ability to specialize in specific organ systems, including gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, gynecology, pediatrics, primary care physicians and oncology.

 

Dr. Roz, NMD is an Arizona board-certified Naturopathic Doctor and received her doctorate from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. She received further advance training in functional and integrative medicine and holds metabolic and functional endocrinology certification and fellowship in Metabolic, Nutritional and Functional Medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

How is a Naturopathic Doctor different from a Homeopathic doctor?


Homeopathy is part, but not all, of Naturopathy. Homeopathy uses natural substances to stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself. Naturopaths may choose homeopathy as well as many different traditional and modern therapies to treat their patients.

DO YOU ACCEPT HEALTH INSURANCE?

The practice does not participate in accepting insurance and payments are received at time of visit. Though typical blood work and prescriptions are usually covered through most health insurance plans.
